Fruit tree pruning workshop with Bob Morris

9:00am - 12:00pm 

This free workshop will take place at our Faultline Farm, and includes a discussion on how to apply fertilizers and what kind and pest control operations that should be performed this time of year. Bob has kindly offered to bring along some fertilizers for fruit trees and EDDHA iron chelates from Viragrow in Las Vegas for those interested, and encourages people to submit requests to bring along anything else that may not be available locally. The workshop will begin promptly at 9:00am.

Bob Morris specializes in desert horticulture in the Las Vegas and surrounding Mojave Desert areas. In addition to his work as a consulting horticulturist, Bob Morris is a columnist for the Las Vegas Review Journal, and author of the widely popular Xtremehorticulture of the Desert blog. His background also includes over 25-years-experience as a Horticulture Specialist and Associate Professor Emeritus for the University of Nevada Reno.

Community Seed Exchange

1:00pm - 4:00pm

Following a lunch break after Bob's workshop, the 29 Palms Inn will be hosting a free community seed exchange, also held at our Faultline Farm, starting at 1:00pm. Trade your extra seeds, explore new food & flowers, share gardening information, pick up free packaging and labels, and enjoy networking with people from the community. 

For those who'd like to enjoy lunch on the lawn, picnic lunches can be ordered in advance. Give us a call at 760.367.3505 or email us at [email protected] to put in your order. Picinic lunches are $10 each and include fruit, chips, house made cookies and your choice of the following sandwiches: roasted turkey, ham & swiss, BLT, faultline farm delight (vegetarian) or peanut butter & jam.
