The 29 Palms Inn, Cactus Mart, Mojave Desert Land Trust, and Friends of Big Morongo Canyon Preserve are pleased to present a special community event to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the California Desert’s National Monuments.
Established on February 12, 2016, Sand to Snow, Mojave Trails, and Castle Mountains National Monuments protect 1.8 million-acres of public wilderness, fragile wildlife habitat, cultural sites, archaeological resources, and incredible recreation opportunities, and have become bright new stars on the map for local tourism, bringing visitors from around the world to the California Desert.
This free community event will bring together local residents, business owners, and conservation leaders to celebrate the positive impact these newly designated National Monuments have had on the community and local tourism economy. The event is open to the public and will include a short program, live music, food and beverages, free anniversary posters, and visitor information about the monuments.
